These early pages were done on cold press illustration board, the line art was primarily done with brush and ink. The tone effects were "zip-a-tone" self-adhesive shading film. Extra effect on teh shaded areas was done with either scraping off a portion of the printed pattern for highlights, or ink wash to fill-in and darken other areas.
